Service
Learning Scholarship
donated by Back
to the Future Education |
|
Community Service Learning is an innovative, values-based
intervention program being used with great success
in Youth Off The Streets residential programs. Service
Learning programs focus on the root cause of violent
and criminal behaviour amongst adolescents, helping
young people to develop a lasting moral framework
for positive behaviour. Young people are given the
opportunity to develop skills, self-esteem and positive
values through service to the community, understanding
the importance and value of being generous to others
is one of the key features of the program’s
success. Youth Off The Streets currently has three
main service learning initiatives in place and we
are delighted to announce that with assistance from
a scholarship donated by Back To The Future Education,
two young people from our outreach services will
be given the opportunity to take part in a new service
learning project in the Philippines. |
