Fr Chris Riley demands defeat of WA legislation citing breaches of The UN Convention of the Rights of the Child.
Legislation introduced this week to the Upper House of the Western Australian Parliament will grant the Government
the power to use the Internet to name and shame child offenders as young as 14 years. Father Chris Riley, CEO and
Founder of the charity Youth Off The Streets, has called for the defeat of this legislation.
“The Western Australian Government should hang their head in shame for announcing such draconian and oppressive

Youth Off The Streets Key College highly commended at the 2009 Australian Awards for Teaching Excellence
Key College, the Youth Off The Streets school for homeless and disadvantaged teenagers, has received a
Highly Commended Award for Excellence by a School and its Community at the Federal Government’s 2009 Australian Awards for Excellence in Teaching.

Youth Off The Streets urgently need new volunteer team members
Due to the economic crisis, Youth Off The Streets Op Shops are busier than ever. We need volunteers to provide much needed support in the day to day running of the Casula and Sefton Op shops.
Volunteers are required to sort through donations, price items and pick up and deliver goods. Youth Off The Streets are looking for volunteers who are available to help out for between 2 hours and 2 days per week...

Fr Riley appeals to the community to help save school for homeless youth
Father Chris Riley, CEO and Founder of the non-denominational charity Youth Off The Streets, has recently been
advised that due to development plans, Key College will need to find new premises by November 2009. Key College is
the school for homeless young people near Central Station.
Youth Off The Streets are grateful to the Sydney Archdiocese who have allowed the school to operate rent free for the
last 7 years. However, Father Riley is concerned about the short time frame for relocation. If suitable premises are
not found quickly, the school will be at risk of closure....

Fr Chris Riley becomes the first Australian to receive prestigious international humanitarian
award, joining previous recipients Mother Teresa and former President Jimmy Carter
On Friday 10 July 2009, Father Chris Riley AO, youth advocate, CEO and Founder of the charity Youth Off The Streets, will
receive the 2009 Lions International Humanitarian Award. The Award will be presented in recognition of the humanitarian
accomplishments he has achieved through 30 years of working with homeless and disadvantaged young people, both in
Australia and overseas.
By receiving the award, Father Chris Riley joins a list of esteemed dignitaries including former US President Jimmy Carter,
Mother Teresa and Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus. He is the first Australian to receive the award...
