Experience
a life changing event
The 2007 Celebration of Youth Ball
15th September at the Westin Hotel, Sydney
Join Father Chris Riley, CEO
and Founder of Youth Off The Streets and his host
Mike Munro for a night you will never forget.
This year, 20 lives will be changed forever as
Youth Off The Streets and their supporters celebrate
the presentation of 20 scholarships to disadvantaged
young people from around the nation.
“This is the most inspirational
night of my year. These kids have overcome all
sorts of adversity and yet they still have the
determination to make anything possible. This
is a group of amazing young people, every recipient
has earned their scholarship on merit. I have
no doubt that they will use it to change their
life forever,” said Father Chris Riley,
CEO and Founder, Youth Off The Streets.
This year’s Celebration
of Youth guests will be treated to a
performance by Idol finalist, Paulini and a debut
performance by rising star and 2006 scholarship
recipient, Stevie Adams.
"The scholarship has
not only changed my life, but changed my view
of life. It made me realise that the impossible
is completely possible if I try. It has helped
me to achieve so many things including courses
towards my dream job I thought I’d never
be able to afford to take. Overall it has motivated
me in so many ways, I’m so thankful,"
said Stevie Adams, Youth Off The Streets 2006
Scholarship recipient.
Guests will also have the opportunity
to make a difference and win some fabulous prizes
including a brand new Kia Sorrento, a Paul McCartney
signed guitar and even the original This
Is Your Life book with an autographed
Greg Norman script and commemorative photos as
used in the first series of the popular television
programme This Is Your Life.
“The scholarships
are win-win for both parties; disadvantaged young
people get a real chance to prove their worth
in their chosen career, while those generous enough
to offer money can see real results as they follow
the achievements of their sponsored scholarship
recipient,” said Mike Munro, Journalist
and television personality.
Now in it’s fourth year,
the 2007 Youth Off The Streets Celebration of
Youth Ball is set to be the event of the year
that is not to be missed.

About Youth Off The Streets:
Youth Off The Streets is a community
organisation working for young people who are
chronically homeless, drug dependent and recovering
from abuse. We support these young people as they
work to turn their lives around and overcome immense
personal traumas such as neglect and physical,
psychological and emotional abuse.
Since opening in 1991, Youth
Off The Streets has grown from a single food van
delivering meals to young homeless people on the
streets of Kings Cross to a major youth specific
agency providing a wide range of services offering
a full continuum of care.
It is our goal that these young
people will leave our care drug free, with a high
school education, living skills and a full or
part time job in hand. |
