How to Enter

  • Entries are accepted in two divisions: Middle school (grades 5-8) and Secondary school (grades 9-10)
  • Entries can be submitted individually or in teams. Teams can consist of a maximum of 6 members
  • Come up with the concept for a 30 second TV ad targeting youth drug use or a related youth issue
  • Do your research! – Judges will be looking for accurate messages about the risks of drug use. Make use of our information links to help you
  • Keep in mind who the ad is for (10 – 16 year olds). Think of the issues that affect YOU or drugs that YOU may come into contact with, and develop an accurate and effective prevention commercial for your other students your age
  • Have a look at previous GetReel winners as examples. Click here to view ad 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 winning ads
  • Along with your entry, include additional drawings, photographs or other material if they help describe what your ad will look like
  • Download the entry form and complete. This is VERY IMPORTANT, as entries without an entry form will not be accepted
  • Supply a team contact or teachers name, School name & phone number plus a list of all team members with their date of birth
  • Refer to the full Terms and Conditions
  • The closing date for the competition is September 25th 2009.
